Weblogtools did a poll and a post about the best way to post to wordpress and (very sadly) posting by phone received NO mention
So I had to comment in there and mention the GoogleCasting method I have been using recently.
I like the way Ward Mundy over at NerdVittles thinks.
He has some interesting Voip nerd posts recently about Google Voice, Asterisk, and Gizmo hacks
And Google Voice losing SIP
I had read NerdVittles in the past when I was tinkering with Asterisk.
I’ll have to check him out again for more GoogleCasting ideas and tricks.
Wordpress consulted Free Software lawyers about the GPL license in regards to themes and graphics in wordpress.
The quote from the lawyer was a little long so I didn’t read it. But I did read through the free software manifesto on the GNU website.
On that page they have a link to an article on the difference between open source and free software.
I’ve read quite a bit about the free software and the open source movements in various books and thought I knew something of the difference. I also have been using open source CMS for my websites since 2003 and I have been using and monkeying around with GNU Linux (asterisk project|puppy linux) as my operating system of choice since late 2007 (although I have known and used it as far back as 2002 – RedHat).
What is the difference? I’m not really sure.
I know that free software (software released under GPL) is open source, as in you have full access to the source code.
But I am guessing that software claiming to be open source may not necessarily be GPL free software if it does not give all four of the freedoms offered under GPL.
Confusing.
Long time no see. Haven’t posted in a little while so I wanted to make a quick Jott. I’m working on a lot of projects. Still working on the Asterisk project. I figured out how to go on a browser and configure the Asterisk PBX, using the GUI Asterisk GUI and I’ve also been working on using Jott to send a to do, to-do items to RememberTheMilk.comlisten

Okay, last time I think my last post was about working with Asterisk software, I took the configure that I installed Asterisk on to work with me and I tried to set it up but we only had internet connection for the two computers we have there so before I can start using Asterisk and setup that computer we have to get a router so I was looking at routers today and this router from Linksys that looks pretty good, its about. listen

Okay, today, early today I installed Asterisk(?) on a computer that I had opened up and modified or just played around with, really, it was my first time really messing around with a computer successfully. I mean I guess I’ve opened up computers probably 3 or 4 times before but this time put in some new stuff and then today I installed Asterisk which works along with Linux Operating System and also installs that. So, tomorrow I’m going in to work and going to see if we can set it up to the rest of our network and get it to work as our PBX system for… listen
